IMVU wants you to help the victims of the recent floods in Pakistan.  Recent floods caused by unusually harsh monsoons have submerged nearly a fifth of Pakistan’s land, displaced nearly 20 million people and killed over 10,000.

It’s easy.  Complete a short survey related to the recent tragedy in Pakistan so we can understand how you would like IMVU to participate in helping relief efforts.  The survey aims to gauge how online social communities like IMVU engage and participate in global outreach programs such as international charities.  We will make a donation toward the Pakistan Flood Relief efforts for every survey completed and are looking forward to a tremendous response from our users.

We will share a summary of the survey results with the community upon completion of this effort.  Meanwhile, please take the survey and help IMVU help these flood victims.

Safety and security of IMVU users, their accounts and their credit balances are important to us. We are implementing several measures to prevent fraud and scamming so that our community is a safe and fun place to be.

Sometimes, scammers approach our members by pretending to be IMVU staff. As we have said many times, you should NEVER give your account password to anyone. No staff member will ever ask for your password. Not on your homepage, not in your forum Inbox, not in chat, not even in a help ticket. So if someone asks for your password, then he/she is a scammer!

To make it easy for you to identify who is IMVU staff, we have added the following measures:

All IMVU staff members will have a staff tag on their Avatar Card next to their name in addition to the animated staff badges displayed on the card. You will see the same tag on their forum posts, forum messages, homepage messages etc. Staff’s Avatar Cards will also display the “IMVU STAFF” watermark as a background for the card.

In addition, all messages from IMVU or its staff will be watermarked in a similar manner. If you receive a message from IMVU Inc, Missgreenbacks, Nola or any of the other official IMVU accounts and staff members, you will see the “IMVU STAFF” watermark. If you don’t see the IMVU STAFF watermark, then it is not a legitimate IMVU message.

So be safe, keep, your account password to yourself, and enjoy chatting, shopping and creating in the IMVU world!

Never, ever give out your IMVU password to anyone.  IMVU staff will NEVER ask you for your password, so if anyone asks you for your password, report them immediately.  They are bad people.  They will promise you “free credits” and “cheats.”  They are scammers who want to steal from you.

Make your password stronger.  Mix up letters and numbers.  You would be amazed that some people use passwords like “123456″ or “password.”  Guess what?  Criminals know these simple passwords too, so they steal people’s accounts and their credits.  Don’t let it happen to you!
